How to Upholster an Outside Back of a Curved Chair
With a significant curve like this one, you cannot use cardboard strip like we usually do across the top so we show you how to get around that
Lesson Description
When upholstering an outside back with a significant curve like this one, you cannot use cardboard strip like we usually do across the top so we show you how to get around that with metal gripper (ply grip or metal back tacking strip). We also have to work from the bottom up on this chair and we'll show you why. You'll learn how to make relief cuts into the fabric to finish along the curve without any ripples and also how to get around corners with the metal gripper.
We'll show you how to build up your inside back to give it a luxurious finish.
