Lesson Description

In this video you'll learn how to re-build an arm of a sofa from a bare frame. This frame doesn't provide a lot of structure so we show you some techniques to build out the frame to get the desired shape and to prevent the arm from collapsing in with future use. We also show you how to add another wooden rail for support as the frame on this arm was too weak to add webbing to it.

We have broken the video down so you can easily find the section you want, here are the time stamps:

00:48 - Adding a new wooden rail to the arm
04:20 - Attaching webbing
07:01 - Adding structure to the arms to create the desired shape
12:37 - Attaching hessian
14:52 - Attaching an edge roll to the front of the arm
16:15 - Adding cotton felt
17:51 - Building the foam up in layers
30:38 - Creating the shape of the front of the arm with the foam
