Lesson Description

In this video we'll take you through the different kind of fabrics you can purchase and their suitability. You'll learn the difference between upholstery and curtain fabric as well as contract fabric that's suitable for hospitality.

We'll also walk you through the general widths of fabrics as well as selvages and the Flame Retardant back coatings. We'll give you a brief understanding of pattern matching your fabric and when you would need to leave your selvage on when cutting.

We'll also teach you how to know when looking at sample fabrics whether they are a curtain or upholstery fabric and about the Martingale rub test.
