Lesson Description

In this video you'll learn how to upholster an outside back of a sofa. You'll learn how to measure for the fabric and decide where to put your seams as most sofa's will be wider than a width of fabric so will require extra pieces to make it fit. Unless you decide to run the fabric! You'll also learn how to sew the extra pieces to make one large outside back with seams.

You'll also learn how to use metal gripper (or ply grip/ metal back tacking strip) to close the fabric along the sides seamlessly.

As always in our videos, we'll teach you how to elevate your upholstery work to the next level and make it a high end piece of furniture.

We have broken the video down so you can easily find the section you want, here are the time stamps:

02:45 - Measuring for the fabric
05:51 - Cutting the fabric and the piping cord
